The Bedouin Keen Eye

Two Bedouin agreed to meet by a certain tree in the desert. One of them reached the tree before the other and waited there for his friend to arrive.

He waited for several hours but his friend failed to turn up. While he was waiting, another Bedouin arrived on the spot and the two started to chat.

The waiting man told his interlocutor that he was waiting for a friend.

The second man noticed some tracks on the ground and immediately asked the waiting man:

"Did your friend have a camel?"

"Yes", said the waiting man.

"Was the camel one-eyed?"

"Yes", said the waiting man.

"And the camel is blind in the left eye?"

The waiting man replied with increased bewilderment: "Yes, did you see him?"

The question was ignored: "Is your friend fat?" asked the other man.

The waiting man was astounded and replied: "Tell me, where is he if you saw him?"

The other man continued his questioning: "Is his camel loaded with dates?"

The waiting man became impatient and replied: "That's him! By God tell me where he is!"

The other man replied: "I have not seen him, but he passed here at noon".

The waiting man wondered: "If you have not seen him, how do you know all these things about him?"

The other man replied: "Your friend's camel passed here by this tree.

The camel grazed the grass on its right side and did not touch the grass on its left side. From this, I deduced that the camel was one-eyed. And here you can see the footprints of your friend and they imply that he is fat. Look at my footprints and compare them with those of your friend: your friend's footprints are deeper than mine and this indicates he is a fat man. Now look at the ants that have gathered around these wet drops on the sand. Ants like sweet things and in the desert, this can only be the juice of dates. It dripped from a load of dates. As for his passing here a few hours ago, I can say as a son of the desert that the shade of the tree was where the camel and its owner sat, and it took several hours for the shade to move to its present position".

Homeopathy In Sharm

When you visit the doctor, he will ask you what is wrong. "My foot hurts," you might say, and the doctor will lift the foot and look at it from all angles.
He has seen this before. Within 15 minutes, he will learn all of the details he needs to make a diagnosis. He will write on a pad, hand you a slip of paper, and you will hobble out the door. This is how medicine is done, right?
Why is it then, that for the same complaint, a homeopath will require that you sit in her office for at least an hour? Why will she ask you about your childhood, your dreams, your preferences for food, and so on?
What are these tiny white pills she has recommended you, and why do they have a name that sounds so strange?

Do You Believe In The Evil Eye?

Hello Muriel,

Do you believe in the evil eye?

 Thanks,
Mona

Dear Mona,
I don’t think it is about belief; it is more about respect and acceptance for other people’s beliefs. It is not about my opinion either as opinions become diluted with age.
The ‘Evil Eye’ is believed by many cultures to be able to cause bad luck or injury on the person to whom it is directed.
The concept and significance of it varies widely between cultures, but for me the psychodynamics are of ‘envy.’
It has been mentioned several times in the Bible and is also mentioned in the Koran.
