The delicious ‘Whopper’ sandwich is a hamburger, consisting of a grilled quarter-pound (113.4 g) beef burger, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, and sliced onion all in a sesame seed bun. Optional ingredients may be added upon request such as BBQ sauce, tartar sauce, honey mustard, steak sauce and hot sauce.
The ‘Whopper’ sandwich is Burger King’s signature product and was the first major addition to the menu by Mr. McLamore in 1957.
Having first commenced operations in Egypt in 2007, Burger King's presence in the Middle East dates back to 1992 when it launched its first restaurant in the region in KSA, and since then the company has expanded its operations and is now one of the fastest growing quick service restaurant chains in the region, in the process bringing significant investment and employment to the local communities in which it operates. Back in November, Burger King announced the opening of its 200th restaurant in the Middle East, located in Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport.
Countries in the MENA region where Burger King currently operates include KSA, Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt.
As with all fast food restaurants, the service is quick, efficient and competent; the staff are always friendly and smiling and other than the whopper there is a large variety on the menu to choose from. The portions are extremely adequate and the prices are affordable compared to other fast food chains. So, next time you fancy a bite to eat, why not pop down to Burger King or just give them a call and your delivery will arrive piping hot in no time at all.
